Romero's Zombies!

so i started off Andy's October Horror Movie Marathon with George A Romero zombie movies [or remakes of his old ones].

ps. i never said i was a movie critic. this is just my one paragraph opinion on some movies :)

Dawn of the Dead [2004]
Written by: George A. Romero / James Gunn
Directed by: Zack Snyder

Everyone always thinks that it would be cool to be stranded in a mall! Right?! Well not if you are trapped there because the rest of the world is taken over by zombies! The zombies in this movie are fast and chase your ass down! I'm not always a fan of the movies where the zombies stumble along but yet always seem to catch up to you. In this movie the zombies are fast and brutal. There is a lot of blood but not so much the body parts and insides flying around like in most movies. this is one of my favorites.

Land of the Dead [2005]
Written by: George A. Romero
Directed by: George A. Romero

Zombies have taken over and humans have built a walled city to live in. Groups of humans leave the city every now and then to find food and booze and things and on one trip they find out that the zombies are "evolving". They are learning to communicate and fight back and now they are after the city. This movie is good except it's one where the zombies are all slow and stumble around but i like that they use weapons and things instead of just eating people. There is a lot of blood and a lot of gore. There is one effed up part where there is a shadow of a human hand reaching up and two zombies grab fingers are rip the hand in half and split the arm...kinda like the wishbone in a turkey! Not the best zombie movie...but it's entertaining.

Day of the Dead [2008]
Written by: George A. Romero / Jeffrey Reddick
Directed by: Steve Miner

I really don't understand what happened in this movie cause it was kinda boring but it was something like military testing caused zombies and now some chick in the military helps her brother and his girlfriend survive and kill the zombies. The zombies in this movie are fast and so i did like that fact! The gore level is pretty up there and bodies get ripped up and stuff. Overall i would say this movie is basically just entertaining. Nothing special. After all.....it has Nick Cannon in it. Need i say more?

Survival of the Dead [2009]
Written by: George A. Romero
Directed by: George A. Romero

A group of people seek refuge on an island where they hear there are no zombies. However they learn that a man on the island is trying to train the zombies into eating things other than humans! He has one of them locked up and tries to make it eat a pig and make one girl eat a horse and so on and so on but in the mean time the zombies are after the humans! Ripping them apart and eating them all up! ha. This movie is pretty gory. Like...rip a body in half and pull out the guts! In the end...well, i'm not gonna tell you how it ends...but it's good. Check it out! :)

And just for fun...

Zombies of Mass Destruction [2009]
Written by: Kevin Hamedani
Directed by: Kevin Hamedani / Ramon Isa

Such a funny movie!!! It's a "political zomedy" that pokes fun at america with things like a gay couple that comes to a small town and the church tries to convert them and a girl that's father is middle eastern so everyone thinks she is a terrorist. All this going on while zombies run around outside! The gay couple is SO funny and i really liked this movie.

"Don't shoot! I'm gay!"
